Contents

Practice and instruction of assigned simple phrases. Understanding and correction of basic principles of classical dance according to the foundations of the first year of an 8 year Dance conservatory in the introductory structure of a classical dance lesson - la barre, au millieu, adagio, allegro and sur les pointes. Part of the course is education presentations, professional observations at dance conservatories and a cours paper.

Learning outcomes

Linked to the previous semester - a detailed knowledge of classical dance technique, that is, a movement „vocabulary“ numbering 600 pas a temps, all positions, poses and foot, leg, arm, wrist, trunk (hips, waist, shoulders, shoulder blades) and head. Advanced coordination and condition in performing all classical exercises.

Prerequisites and other requirements

Linked to the previous semester - basic physical condition for executing classical dance technique. Proper (for education) aesthetics level of excuting and presentation of all movement representing the main markings and style of that technique. Movement memory.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Credit is awarded based on:

participation in exercises and class

completion of the semester paper

During the course independent reading, participation in class discussions, which is a condition for credit are required. The exam is written and oral. The overall grading is comprised of 60% for class participation, 20% for the written and 20% for the oral parts of the exam.
