Obsah

Practical learning of puppetry techniques from the initial design to the creation of the three-dimensional puppet form using selected techniques, various technologies for creating puppets and elements of stage design and props. As part of the design process, familiarisation with the basics of technical drawing to the extent necessary to create a 1:1 scale project. Sculpting in styrofoam, styrodur (extruded polystyrene foam), and wood. Modelling in clay and making plaster casts. Creating theatrical props with a positive form and in negative moulds. Making full and hollow heads using theatrical prop techniques. Cutting puppet forms from sponge material. Exploring the use of different materials and combining them.

Výsledky učení

In terms of knowledge students:

understand visual expression, understand conventions in art forms such as painting and sculpture, and is inspired by them;

know the techniques and technologies of materials used in puppetry.

In terms of skills, students:

sculpt heads and puppet forms in clay, Styrofoam, or plasticine; construct larger forms from them; design and create a puppet or three-dimensional form based on practical knowledge acquired in class.

In terms of social competences, students:

effectively use imagination and are creative and imaginative.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

In order to pass the course, students must actively participate in classes, complete individual stages of work, and undergo evaluation of their project and construction of three-dimensional puppet.

Completion of the course will require attendance with a maximum of three absences per semester.
