Obsah
The Intermedia Studio is established as one of the current 5 specialized studios of the Faculty of Arts. It focuses on themes and chosen means of expression that go beyond the standard processing of technical images and seek new ways and innovative approaches and practices in the creation of visual projects. The focus on interdisciplinarity, validation of innovation, experimentation, unorthodoxy and critical approach are important points in the concept of studio teaching. Above all, it is characterized by openness to all kinds of visual art media, working in their interstices and the social responsibility of the position of the creator. The studio allows its audience a wide choice of media, does not restrict them in the choice of themes, but emphasizes the interconnection of all creative components and the maximum use of all offered means.
The teaching is supplemented by regular papers by individual members on topics not directly related to visual art, but related to social, political or scientific events and interests of the students.
Main topics
1-2/ Each semester begins with an in-depth discussion with a joint presentation of portfolios, projects in progress, and ideation. On this basis, the main theme or medium for the semester is chosen, specific modules, study tours or stays, exhibitions or other forms of presentation are planned, and the semester's results are presented in the final examination.
3 - 4/ Idea development of the project based on a reasoned concept development, which is further refined based on critical feedback from joint and individual consultations.
5 - 6/ Implementation and execution plan based on technical and technological specifics
7 - 9/ additional activities - workshops, implementation of exhibition projects, inclusion of additional activities in the project concept, individual consultations
10/ Incorporation of lessons learned into the final exhibition project concept
11 - 12/ Adaptation, the ideal form of presentation given the nature of the work and practical conditions, complemented by explication of the work, inclusion in the context, other means of presentation and distribution and further possible developments.
Výsledky učení
The studio allows its audience a wide choice of media, does not restrict them in the choice of topics, but emphasizes the interconnection of all creative components and the maximum use of all available means.
If the student enters the studio in the summer semester of the first year, the emphasis is on experimentation with materials, practical introduction to the whole process of creation, reflection and use of mistakes and errors, and innovative thinking. This approach is further deepened in the winter semester of the second year. Targeted individual assignments and small-scale exercises often help to achieve this goal. The summer semester is dedicated to the creation of a distinctive visual project in the context of contemporary art with presentation in a public space. In the winter semester of the third year, an Erasmus internship or involvement in collaborative projects is possible. The summer semester is devoted to a thorough preparation for the qualifying thesis.
