Obsah

Students write a script for the pre-defined set built in film studio.

It is an exercise in which all students participate.

The actual shooting in the studio is preceded by dedicated practical module that prepare students not only for the specifics of working in a studio, but mostly.

The Atelier exercise is divided into the following 8 working positions:

Directing

Cinematography

Sound

Set design

Screenplay

Assistant of Director (AD)

Production

Editing

Each student takes one position, but positions can be combined if there are less than 8 students in the class.

Výsledky učení

Preparation phase:

In an environment that allows for hands-on demonstrations, students will be introduced to the work of film departments so that, in the future, they will be able to find common ground when seeking the final form of expression and also gain a basic understanding of the technical aspects of each profession.

Shooting phase:

The students learn to approach film production from roles other than those of the director, which broadens their understanding of these professions, increases their sensitivity toward them, and improves their communication with these professionals during regular filming.

On a more general level, they learn to work within strict limits, within a collective ecosystem focused on a shared outcome, and, finally, they gain insight into the unique nature of working at the studio.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

In workshop screening with invited guests. Students receive feedback from colleagues and teachers present.

The final film and all students are evaluated by the directing mentor.

The same grade will be awarded to crew all members who were actively involved in executing the film in their respective positions.

Individuals may have their grade lowered due to lack of involvement in the preparation of the film, lack of active participation during the shooting and in the event of insufficient participation in the module preceding the exercises.

Technical parameters of Atelier exercise: The equipment list is given by the Production Sheet of the exercise. Shooting period is given and known ahead of time.
