Creative Dossier is a set of attachments that present audiovisual projects in development in a comprehensive manner.

The purpose of the subject is to teach the students to prepare a project they can start working on following the completion of their study.

Over the course of the three semesters that this subject takes, the students will develop and create a Creative Dossier to demonstrate their readiness for embarking on a professional path.

The Creative Dossier includes a logline (two to three sentences); a synopsis (one page); a treatment describing the plot of the film and illustrating the traits of the principal characters (the student need not be the exclusive author, 10 pages maximum); a visual mood board (five pages maximum); a director’s explication of the creative plan that will describe the visual aspect through a commentary on the mood board as well as mentioning the sound and musical dramaturgy of the future audiovisual work (one to two pages); and a producer’s explication focusing on an explanation of the overall production strategy with an overview of the steps to be taken after the completion of studies (one to two pages). The content of the Creative Dossier will be detailed and/or expanded during the seminar depending on the selected genre and development strategy for the audiovisual work.

The creation of a creative package for an audiovisual work shall take the form of either:

a feature film

a TV miniseries

a short film

a documentary film, or

a TV series pilot

In the first semester, students work with the lecturer to define the project’s topic and scope, focusing on content development (literary development). They work primarily independently or, where relevant, collaborate with co-writers or dramaturges under the lecturer’s guidance.

Výsledky učení

By the end of the first semester, students will be able to:

Define the topic and scope of the proposed AV project

Develop the core content (literary development) of the project

(all of this while carefully considering the scope and nature of a complete task, ensuring that early development decisions align with its overall scope and future components)

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

The teacher shall assess the artistic relevance and feasibility of the presented film project, determine the priorities for the development of the material with the student, and follow their observance throughout the semester.

Students are expected to show an active approach to the development of the work and to attend classes regularly with at least a 70% rate of attendance.

Poznámka

Students are encouraged to actively seek collaborating colleagues to take part in the development.

For literary development of the Creative Dossier, as well as in subsequent stages of development and finalization of the same, we recommend actively seeking collaboration with students from the Department of Screenwriting and Dramaturgy.
