Contents

Acquisition of the skill which allows to create and use registered image that uses puppet forms in theatrical projects. Readiness to realize film projects with puppets.

Analyzing possibilities of puppet forms in front of camera and ways of using recorded film material in theatre;

Constructing short etudes making use of puppet forms and registering them; experiments within the ways of recording the image;

Creating a script in form of a storyboard; analyzing and establishing concepts for the realization of the idea; attempts to record chosen etudes; filming and active participating in the post-production process

Learning outcomes

In the field of knowledge students:

possess the knowledge needed for the purpose of preparing a video image in theatrical realizations and are able to use expressive means and possibilities of related disciplines;

know the possibilities of different puppet techniques, theatre of object, mask and other unconventional expressive means and theatre of live form and are able to use them in a convention chosen for the video recording.

In the field of skills students:

present highly developed artistic personality, which is further developed during creation and realization of own ideas, prove legitimacy of creating bigger forms consisting of elements of video recording and possess skills needed for their realization;

analyze the possibilities of the concept, which uses puppet forms and is able to make independent decisions concerning realization of their own project;

possess a wide range of skills enabling realization of own concepts of creating video images with puppets.

In the field of social competences students:

are able to work independently, are open towards constructive criticism of own actions, interpret new experiences and match them with possessed knowledge and skills, lead a group work while sustaining sensitivity towards criticism.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The aim of the class is to prepare and produce a short (1-3 minute) film etude using puppet theatre techniques.

Credits are awarded based on completion of the long-term assignment and its review.

Attendance in classes (min 80%).

Cooperation with educators in the field of puppet production, consultations with the scenographer.
