An actor's work with a mask is very much related to an animator's work with puppets, inanimate objects and also, in a sense, with a cartoon character. The seminar deals with the laws of this kind of acting. The inner feelings of the characters played in a theatrical way will enable the audience to better understand the psychological processes of the actor when portraying characters and to use them in their own work with a puppet or other inanimate object in an animated film.
Each student will work with different types of expressive masks from larval to character in the first stage. Then each person will model their original mask type directly onto a cast of their face. They will learn the whole process of mask making and at the same time the laws of the human face and facial expressions.
Fixing one expression in the mask and animating it with their own body will lead students to learn the principles of animating puppets and inanimate objects in both theatre and film.

Study of types of masks according to acting technique:
Neutral, character, expressive and dynamic.
Classified according to the technology of mask production and function:
Character masks:
Full-face masks.
Half masks - cover only part of the face.
Expressive masks - covering the whole body.
Static and dynamic masks (e.g., make-up or projected).
Artwork - Modelling and masking masks:
Larval
Expressive half masks.
Expressive facial full masks
Surface modification - patination, dyeing
Interpretation of individual masks:
Perceive the content and form of the mask, respect the material and from these items seek to guide the mask. Construct and act out a situation with a mask.
Home preparation.
Learning outcomes
In this course, students will learn the basics of acting expression for animating objects and the human body. They will create their own mask, which they will learn to interpet.
