Study Objectives:

Získat základní přehled vývoje hudby s jejími specifiky a hlavními možnostmi zápisu a také funkcemi ve společnosti do období ars nova, rozpoznat v reprodukované hudbě některá stěžejní období.

Course contents:

The presentation focuses on ancient music culture to early multi-voice medieval music and selected characteristic style of ars nova.

1. Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China

2. Ancient Greece and Rome

3. Music from the early Medieval to ars nova.
