Study Objectives:

Seznámit posluchače s významnými etapami vývoje české dramatiky na základě analýzy vybraných reprezentativních děl z období od poloviny 19. do poloviny 20. století.

Presentation of selected theatre plays and discussions about them.

Course contents:

Relationships of Czech theatre, drama and literature in the period of the formation of New era Czech theatre culture (from the secon half of the 19th century and on). This course develops the knowledge acquired in History of Theatre in the Context of Western Culture I and II.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Classes with commentary.

Assessment methods and criteria

To receive credit 80% class participation, completion of assignments at home (papers, partial written work) and, of course, joining in to discussions. The course is concluded with an exam and if needed also a final written paper.
