A practical studio workshop conducted by the guest lecturer focused on camera movement and hand-held shooting. Students will be given a short literary screenplay of a scene for two actors, that will be shot at Studio FAMU and subsequently colour graded.

Day 1 9:00 – Workshop starts at Studio FAMU (Ateliér A) 12:00 – Lunch break 12:45 – Shoting continued 18:00 – End of shooting

Day 2 9:00 – Colour grading footage from day 1 at LDK FAMU 12:00 – Lunch break 12:45 – Colourgrading continued 15:00 – End of workshop

Lecturer’s Biography:

Manuel Alberto Claro (*1970) is a Chilean-born Danish cinematographer and photographer. After studying photography in Milan, he worked as an assistant photographer in Europe and the US. His career in Cinematography began in 1997 when he enrolled as a student at the National Film School of Denmark, where he graduated in 2001.

As a director of photography, Manuel Claro has lensed about 20 feature films, and several of them have won international awards. He is known for his frequent collaborations with Lars von Trier, which have resulted in films such as Melancholia, Nymphomaniac, and The House that Jack Built.

He is an active member of the Danish Society of Cinematographers (DFF) and a honorary member of the Association of Chilean Cinematographers (ACC).
